Origins

The Timeless Beauty of the Tuscan Countryside

Untitled-1

Carol Deady already had deep roots in the home and garden industry when a colleague invited her on a business trip to Italy in 1990. There, she toured the workshops of the many artisans dotting the Tuscan countryside. She watched as Italian craftsmen practiced techniques handed down through generations to produce beautiful one-of-a-kind pots, urns and more. The terracotta clay baking in the sunlight brought forth the incredible beauty and warmth of Tuscany. Convinced these amazing pieces would be perfect for the homes and gardens of her native Atlanta, Carol arranged for a full shipment of terracotta to sell back home. Gardening at Hill Street was born.
